TOWN OF BANCROFT
FALL WATERMAIN FLUSHING PROGRAM
Beginning Monday, October 19, 2026
Veolia Water Canada Inc. will begin the Town of Bancroft’s fall watermain flushing program on Monday, October 19, 2026. Flushing will begin each morning at 4:00 a.m., and the program is expected to take up to seven days to complete.
Flushing Schedule
The anticipated schedule is outlined below. Days 6 and 7 are reserved for weather-related or other unforeseen delays.

Cleak Avenue; Hastings Street North; Flint Avenue; Bridge Street East; Faraday Street; Dale Street; Woodview Lane; Madawaska Street.
Section 3 Wednesday, October 21 & Thursday, October 22
Bridge Street West; Station Street; Alice Street; Chemaushgon Road; Forest Hill Road; Forest Hill Drive; Ridge Road; Airview Drive; Waterhouse Crescent; Nicklaus Drive; Bancroft Ridge Drive; Vanluven Lane.

Why Is Flushing Necessary?
This maintenance program is designed to remove sediment accumulation within the watermains and help maintain good water quality throughout the distribution system.
What You May Experience
Watermain flushing and hydrant activities may temporarily cause:
● Discoloured water
● Lower-than-normal water pressure
● Sediment or air in household plumbing
These conditions are a normal result of flushing activities. They may occur at the flushing location or several blocks away due to changes in the direction and velocity of water flow. It is not possible to predict exactly which locations will be affected or the extent of the impact. Please note that not everyone will experience these issues.
Recommendations for Residents
1.
Run a COLD water tap: If you experience discolouration, sediment, or air in your plumbing, run a cold water tap until the water clears.
2. Reduce water use: Limit water use while crews are flushing in your area.
3. Avoid doing laundry: Do not wash laundry if your water is discoloured, as staining may occur.
